SMS Global Technologies: Embarking on Next Generation Systems Integration

Anthony Angeles,President & CEO, SMS Global TechnologiesAnthony Angeles, President & CEO

The Philippines corporate landscape is in a fast lane with exceptional growth dynamics. Sectors, public and private alike, have matured and grown competitive at par with its world counterparts. However, there persists a lingering challenge for enterprises concerning the development and integration of new products and leveraging data services. Additionally, an increasing population pushes the public utility sector to hunt for newer ways to serve the populace better and to achieve this, harnessing the maximum of IT potential is crucial. This is where SMS Global Technologies (SMSGT) enters into the picture with its integrated range of IT solutions to assist the utilities sector in designing public-centric products. A technical entity with over 20 years of industry experience, SMSGT has established itself as a key systems integrator in the Philippines, with solutions covering a wide range of utilities industry.

Catering a vast market in the Telecom space, SMSGT’s core competencies are in the core network, where it specializes in building solutions and maintenance of all the elements of its deployment. Anthony Angeles, President and CEO of SMSGT says, “We build applications that help automate the services and underlying processes, but we also provide man-power in terms of technically trained engineers to our clients. We don’t just supply our products, we strive to deliver the promises that our products make.” In addition to a workforce majorly composed of engineers and IT practitioners that leverages its collective experience in building network solutions, SMSGT continues to push the boundaries of its competence.

The company is soon to receive advanced certifications such as ISO 9000, “that will enable the company to further leverage its current competencies.”

With the company’s localized operations that give it a better perception of customers’ challenges and pain-points, SMSGT has over the years evolved as the go-to systems integrator in the country, particularly for the telecom industry. The company extends its offerings in the core network of mobile and fixed operations, predominantly in the areas of diameter router, load balancing, network optimization, mobile optimization, network security, mobile security, deep packet inspection, and TDS. It is also widely involved providing in OSS and BSS solutions for its customers. The company’s understanding of the local market forces along with an extensive in-house Oracle skill-set pool has further positioned SMSGT as the forefront system integrator for Oracle communications in the country. The company integrates Oracle database with the application it provides to its customers and adopts a holistic approach toward assisting its customers in making them efficient in managing operational expenses and other related costs. Along with building information systems for utilities, including hospitals, the company also operates data centers for a number of such clients and deploys engineers on-site to ensure smooth operations.

Currently, SMSGT continues to strengthen its foothold in the Philippines covering the whole country. Concerning solutions, the company has been involved in a number of government initiatives, partnering with a multitude of government institutions and delivering solutions that are industry-specific. As an evolving market, Angeles remarks that Philippines is open to foreign companies to explore the tremendous market potentials that lie within. “SMSGT envisions its future endeavors to coincide with foreign collaborations and investments for the Philippines market along with its plans to expand reach beyond borders, particularly in Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries.”
